Detail

Oil and fluid services

  • Engine oil changes
  • Transmission fluid services
  • Coolant and antifreeze services
  • Power steering fluid checks
  • Differential fluid changes
  • Hydraulic fluid maintenance
  • Brake fluid inspections

Why the interval matters

Fresh oil lubricates, carries heat away and keeps what it picks up in suspension. Old oil does none of those three well, and the sludge that follows costs an engine long before anyone sees a warning. Staying on the interval is the cheapest maintenance decision available on a diesel.

Oil is the one everybody tracks. Transmission fluid, coolant, power steering, brake and differential fluid are the ones that fail quietly — we check the level and the condition of each, because a fluid at the right level can still be finished.

FAQ

Common questions

How often should I change the oil in my heavy-duty truck?

For heavy-duty trucks, oil changes are typically recommended every 15,000 to 25,000 miles, depending on the type of oil used and your driving conditions. Frequent stop-and-go driving or heavy loads may call for more frequent changes.

What fluids should I regularly check in my heavy-duty truck?

In addition to engine oil, check transmission fluid, coolant, power steering fluid, brake fluid and differential fluid. Keeping these at proper levels and free of contaminants is what keeps the truck’s systems working and avoids a breakdown on the road.

What areas do you serve?

In addition to Charlotte, NC, many of our customers come from all over North Carolina, including Shelby, Salisbury, Statesville, Hickory, Concord, Kannapolis, Mooresville and Matthews.

Professional, knowledgeable and reasonable on pricing. I’ve had alignments and balancing done here as well as an oil change. As an owner operator, I find Reed and the staff some of the best around in Charlotte when it comes to maintaining a semi.

EagleSpan installed 6 new tires on my RV. They got the tires I wanted quickly, balanced and mounted the tires while I waited. They even installed new valve stems. Friendly people, great prices and speedy service earns them 5 stars. It’s also the only place in the Charlotte area that I know of that does alignments on big rigs.
